Chapter 2
I never hated the fact that I could do nothing in this class and still get a good grade for it. I have always viewed it as a
to place to catch up on sleep or unfinished homework. It should have been a period I looked forward too because I didn't have
to deal with anything but it really was just a waste of time. So I've realized, during half the semester, that I wanted something
interesting to happen in this class.
It's true that I wasn't looking for anything in particular.
She jumped out of her seat and pointed her little finger at me. "Why are you always doing those kind of things?"
But what I got was Kara Pepper. Oh no, I'm not complaining or anything. She is the cutest and one of the most interesting
people I know, after all. The only problem was that I didn't exactly know how interesting she actuallly is.
"You-You're such a flirt! Even with girls!" She practically screamed. I've known Pepper for about a month.
Steve nodded in agreement. I've known him, well technically since 8th grade, but since Mr.Thompson moved me up to the
front of the class. Right. Next. to Him. A result of Mr. Thompson's sick humor or because Pepper and I would never shut up.
I laughed. "S-sit down, Kara." I even waved my hand a little to get her to sit. And yes, everyone was watching her, only
she wouldn't know because she was shutting her eyes.
She took her seat wiping a tear from her face. A tear from yelling, not crying.
"Besides," I said. "I can't flirt with girls, that'd be weird."
"Then what the heck do you call it?" That was plainly asked by Steve.
We, Pepper, Steve, and me, were supposed to be studying for a vocab test we were going to have in like 10 minutes. But
we started having conversations off topic and somehow Pepper ended up sitting in my lap. And so I harmlessly started messing
with her. Which was my answer to Steve's question "messing with her."
I smiled. "A-anyways, what's possible, able to be done?" I read off the vocabulary sheet.
Steve smirked but still answered. Actually they both did
"Feasible." And they said it at the same time but I pointed at Pepper.
"Kara said it first."
"What the heck." said Steve. "Why do you keep giving her points?"
I know it's lame that we made up a studying game but hey, where's the motivation if you're not playing to win. The prize is
me treating one of the two to lunch in the cafeteria, and I'm making sure it's Pepper.
"Because," I started. "Why would a guy like you lose to a cute girl like her."
I'm not going to say it out loud but I'm not trying to say that Steve isn't good-looking, because he is. Am I attracted to
him? Well, no but it doesn't mean that I can't be.
I poked Pepper in the cheek. "See." I said as she turned pink.
I looked at the clock, it should have been time to start the test but Mr. Thompson wasn't even in the classroom.
I looked back at Pepper. This isn't the first time that I've seen her face change into different color shades but what if I'm
actually embarassing her.
"Am I embarassing you Pep,err Kara?"
"Yesss," She pretended to sniffle. "You always do."
I laughed. But looking back on it, I probably shouldn't have messed with her so much.
We decided to have luch together but we didn't say where we'd meet. I sighed, where is she?
"I like you so,"
I ducked. It's not like I want to interupt a confession.
"do you-"
"I'm sorry but no."
I peeked over the well-cut bush I was hiding behind. It's a bit harsh that she didn't even let the poor guy finish...
Oh, wait.
I squinted. Is that Pepper? Haha, that's not suprising. She's super-ultra-mega cute. They would have looked good together
if she didn't turn him down. Maybe she has a boyfriend already.
"Not even-"
"I'm sorry," She giggled."But I can't, because I like girls."
It didn't gross me out. I think it was just suprising more than anything else.
"Where were you at lunch Friday?" She sat down in Steve's chair hugging her binder tightly against her chest.
"Oh yeah." I whispered. "I...uh...lunch?" I swallowed. "I was trying to look for you but,"
"What was that?" She asked leaning in to listen better.
"Eh...why are you.." so close?
"Oh!" She sat up and turned in her chair. "Someone asked me out!." She giggled
I know.
"I said no to him but he just wouldn't let it go." And I have to pretend I didn't. But what if she said it just to get him off
her back?
"Was there," I shook my head, "anything else you told him?" Like that maybe you said you were a lesbian...
"Hm. Well..."
I scooted to the edge of my chair and leaned a little closer to her. You know, just to see if she wanted to tell me anything
secretly.
"Something that," I shrugged. "made him back off." Like you saying that you are a lesbian.
"Are you trying to kiss her, Steph?" asked Steve.
I was leaning that close to her, huh?
"Uh..." Steve was leaning over my desk with a raised eyebrow and a smirk. "Yes!"
"Wha-" Even Steve's face was red, which I only caught a glance of before quickly looking at Pepper. I wanted to see if she
had some sort of reaction. But she didn't, she only looked like she was thinking.
"Not...really." She said.
Why?
Why would she say that when she knows she did? I know she did. But unless you weren't kidding then you'd tell the
world, right?
End
This chapter was really hard to write. It really just wouldn't come together. But as is, I'm satisfied. I wanted to get it in earlier but I had too many problems with the first way I wrote it.
I hope you enjoyed it though. Leave comments! Because your last ones made me happy. So thank you and thank you for reading. The next chapter should be in this weekend. (:

aaaah thats so amazing
cant wait for the next chapters ^^
it's gunna be awesomesauce!!
please write more
it'll be good if you got it released as a short novel or something along those lines
but you need to put in descriptions for the characters though otherwise you'll have... blank people in a sense?
(im just suggesting? im a writer and all and its a fact characters need descriptions)
sorry if it sounds offensive, not intended at all
